Chelsea Chai - Cello & Piano
Chelsea Chai began studying piano at the age of six and cello when she was 12. She entered the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Orchestral Performing with honours. In 2007, as a cellist of the Shanghai Youth Orchestra, she travelled to Germany for the Young Euro Classic Festival, conducted by Tang Muhai.
Chelsea has been teaching piano and cello since 2009. She enjoys teaching children, and helps them to find self-expression through music. She also takes part in charity performances for the elderly and continues this practice to share her connection with the general public.
Chris Qian - Piano
Ms Chris Qian has over eighteen years of experience with piano teaching, from beginners through to adults. She trained at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and she attained an outstanding service award working in Kong Xiang Dong Music Centre in 2004.
Ms Qian has had extensive experience preparing students for ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall music exams. Her students are regularly awarded the highest honours. Ms Qian has been teaching at BISS Pudong since 2006.
Quentin Ruel Aldecoa - Flute, Clarinet & Saxophone
Quintin teaches flute, clarinet, and saxophone. He began to play flute at the age of 12, and became the principal flutist of Our City Symphony Orchestra in the Philippines at the early age of 18. After graduating from college, he became the school Band Director-Conductor in a college in the Philippines winning awards in Marching Band and Concert Band Competitions.
Vivian Chen - Violin
Vivian Chen began playing the violin at the age of 4. She studied music and economics in Shanghai University. At present Vivian is working for herself as a freelance musical educational consultant. She has over 8 years of teaching experience in several international schools in shanghai. Vivian teaches individual lessons on violin and viola and directs small ensembles. She is very familiar with ABRSM exam and she has students pass ABRSM exam with distinction.
She plays with many professional orchestras such as Shanghai Oriental Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Yin Yun Chamber Orchestra and Pro-Musica Chamber Orchestra.
Pranayam Aquino - Drums
Pranayam began playing music in Manila when he was 9 years old. His first interest was the guitar but he soon discovered his talent and interest lay in playing drums. He performed with his father’s band at the age of 15. He studied music at University of St. Thomas and then went onto perform and work with local and international bands.
In May 2004 Pranayam moved to Shanghai with his band, 'Chill Out'. Since his arrival in Shanghai he has gone onto become a highly regarded and respected drummer and has worked with musicians from all over the world. He has performed in the Philippines, a variety of cities in China, Hong Kong, UK and Germany. He can play and perform all genres of music.
