Space Science Lecture

Science and space enthusiasts of all ages had the chance to hear UK National Space Academy Director Anu Ojha OBE present "Space - So What?", an entertaining and eye opening look at the past, present and future of space exploration and science.

The lecture, free and open to the public, drew a large crowd and covered a wide range of topics from where (and how relatively tiny) we are in the universe, the history of space exploration, the science being undertaken on the International Space Station and the race to reach Mars. Among many highlights of the evening, an audience volunteer come onstage alongside chemist, Judith Greene, to make a comet.

Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and inspect some space paraphanelia brought along specially for the evening, including a space suit, fragments of rock believed to be from Mars and sections of the Hubble telescope.
