Students can play sport more or less every day if they wish, and for the enthusiast there are outstanding opportunities to play, have fun and keep fit.
All students, from our Early Years Cubs through to our IB students, have access to weekly PE lessons. The amount of time available varies, as do the activities on offer, but one constant remains: excellent staff who engender a love of sport in their students.
Primary students have 2 hours of PE per week, and this increases to three hours for most of the secondary school. IB students have a single scheduled hour, but they have the opportunity to use the facilities independently as well. Lessons involve a range of activities, including team sports such as football and volleyball, individual sports like tennis, badminton and athletics and those focused on fitness and aesthetics like gymnastics and dance.
Running in tandem with our curriculum offerings is our ECA programme, after school. This offers students a chance to try new sports in a friendly atmosphere. We offer a range of sports from running club to floor hockey, golf to basketball. A great number of students join in with an ECA every week, many of whom use their training in these ECAs as a stepping stone into the competitive programme available at the school. There are inter-house competitions too, which are fun for a wide range of young sportsmen and sportswomen.
Students have access to two astro-turf pitches, two swimming pools, a weights and fitness room, a dance studio, an indoor gymnastics room, all-weather tennis courts, and two large sports halls. There’s no excuse not to join it, have fun and keep fit.
