ACAMIS & FOBISIA

ACAMIS and FOBISIA provide opportunities for our leading young sportsmen and sportswomen to compete against teams from all over China and Asia. These tournaments are a great challenge and great fun, and something for any students with sporting ambitions to aspire to.
Association of China and Mongolia International Schools

For our older students, the highlight of the sporting year is the end of season ACAMIS tournament.  Teams travel across China to compete in volleyball, basketball, netball, rugby, swimming and football tournaments, enjoying three days of intense competition and collegiality with other schools from different cities.  This is a great learning experience, building teamwork and drawing some outstanding performances from students.  2013 was an exceptional year for the British International School Shanghai, Puxi, as our boys and girls teams came home as tournament champions from both basketball and football competitions.

Federation of British International Schools in Asia

Students from year 4 to year 10 have the opportunity to compete in the FOBISIA games, an international sporting event held three times each year in a variety of places across Asia. A team of 36 multi-talented students is selected to compete in football, athletics, swimming and basketball or tee-ball. As much a celebration of sport as a competition, the FOBISIA games is a real experience for those who take part, and an opportunity for parents, teachers and young athletes to enjoy a fantastic event.
