- Please remember that children need a labelled waterproof bag containing their swimming costume and swim hat and towel. Goggles are optional. Arm bands or other swim aids are not needed.
- Please ensure all clothing and belongings are labelled with your child’s name. This includes water bottles and snack boxes.
PERSONAL SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Hygiene was a big part of our learning this week and we will continue to develop this with the children. The children are excellent at hand washing but do still need to remember to use soap and give them a good scrub! Why do we need to wash our hands? When do we need to wash our hands? We will introduce the hand washing song in the video above.

COMMUNICATION, LANGUAGE AND LITERACY
We have begun to use some simple Makaton signs alongside key vocabulary with the children to support thir communication. Our Makaton signs of the week are toilet and washing hands . It would be fantastic if your could support us at home by teaching these signs in your mother tongue.

This week in PE we will introduce some new parachute games. We will play Merry-Go-Round: Children turn their bodies sideways and hold the chute with one hand. They then walk around in a circle, making a "Merry-Go-Round." For variety, children can hop, skip, jump, etc. We will use music as a cue to reverse and go the other direction. We will also introduce Popcorn: The teacher will place a number of beanbags or small balls onto the parachute and working together we will shake the parachute to make them pop up like "popcorn".

In the Fox cub and Panther cub class we will move on from shapes to numbers. Counting from 0 to 10 and learning to recognise numbers 0-5 and beyond. In the Wof cub and Meerkat cub class we will be looking at different shapes in our environment.

The children will be looking at a range of books in both units. They have shown a particular interest in “ The Very Hungry Caterpillar” , “Animal Boogie” and “Aaaarrrrrgggghhhh Spider”!

UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD
The children have taken an interest in the garden area outside and have been busy digging soil and exploring different textures. We will talk about what we can grow here and plant some more seeds to grow throughout the winter. Hopefully we will have our very own vegetable patch.

EXPRESSIVE ARTS AND DESIGN
The children have become particularly keen on the story “Animal Boogie” . In response we have begun creating our own jungle in the Fox cub classroom, using a range of different painting techneques and crafts to build up our very own jungle scene.

De peuters hebben deze week al heel wat uren op het vliegtuig doorgebracht. De stewards en stewardessen van dienst serveerden heerlijke drankjes en onze piloten kunnen het vliegtuig steeds weer veilig op de grond zetten. We bouwen ons rollenspel deze week verder uit en pakken onze koffertjes voor de volgende reisbestemming. Eerst nog even inchecken en dan kunnen we weer vertrekken!
