- A reminder that School is closed to pupils on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 November.
- Swimming days: if your child swims at school, please can you make sure that they are wearing leggings or trousers, and not tights. Many thanks.
- We would appreciate any spare clothes you have at home to add to our collection this includes socks, underwear, tshirts, jumpers and trousers . Children occasionally need to be changed and it is always good to have a selection ready. On this note if your child has borrowed any spares, could you please wash them and return them to school. Thank you for your continued support with this.
- Any photos and videos taken in school of groups of children during the normal school day should only be taken by school staff or with the agreement of school staff. At no point should any images of children at school be shared using social media without the parents’ permission. Thank you for your support.
COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE
As we have enjoyed a wonderful long weekend we thought this would be a great way to get the children talking about their home life. We would love it if you could send in any photos of your break to spark conversations with the children about what they have done and with whom.
We have some wonderful new childrens cameras in school. The children will be going on a shape hunt taking photographs of the shapes they found in their environment. Can they name these shapes? Can they describe these shapes?
Round, edge, curve, circle, square, triangle
As the weather gets cooler outdoors the children will be keeping warm with some physical activities. We will be using balls and obsticale courses to keep ourselves active through these winter months.
EXPRESSIVE ARTS AND DESIGN
Our creative areas are being used more and more independently by the children. The children will be focusing on choosing materials to create for a purpose. For example a child may decide to make a boat. We would then decide what to use for the base, then decide to add a sail. What will work best to fix the pieces together? Glue? cellotape? If it didn’t work well, what else could you use?
Tape, glue, masking tape, materials, tools, equipment
