FOX AND PANTHER CLASSES

This week the children have been interested in sea creatures, dinosaurs and a shop and were keen to change the role play areas.  We got together as a group to make a mind map of our ideas and decided on an ‘Under the Sea’ theme.

Next week the children will design and create a sea creature of their choice, independently selecting their own choice of materials and the methods they use.

The children have been using a range of emergent writing through their play.  To extend this into next week we will be encouraging children to make signs for the outdoor area and the role play areas within the unit, as well as using clip boards and chalking in the outdoor area.

Both classes have been excited about making obstacle courses and dens outside and we will extend this by allowing the children to choose a range of different objects such as planks, materials, large pegs and logs.

MEERKAT AND WOLF CLASSES

The children loved going on their number walk and found great examples of numbers in their environment. This week we will print out the photos that the children took and talk about other examples of numbers that they have seen.

Some of the children have made lovely books with beautiful illustrations and have given great explanations about their stories. We will develop this further by looking at adding page numbers and other features to our books.

In our outdoor play the children have enjoyed chasing games. We will extend this with the children by offering a variety of fun playground games.
