MESSAGES

  • Warm weather: we are looking forward to enjoying some sunny weather this term. Please do make sure your child has a named sunhat, and when appropriate apply suncream before coming to school.
  • School snacks: it is lovely to see the delicious healthy snacks most children are bringing to school. However, some snack boxes are containing sweets, candy and chocolate which we strongly discourage. If you would like some ideas about what to pack for a healthy snack please do not hesitate to ask your child’s teacher.
  • The librarians are in school until 4:30 on Mondays and Tuesdays, if you want to come and borrow books, you can set up a family account.

OUR LEARNING THEMES

During the last few weeks of term 2,  the children helped to plant flowers and shrubs in the PreNursery garden. After the holiday  we will be checking on the plants, seeing how they are growing and making sure that they have enough water and light to continue to grow and flourish. Some children have shown particular interests in dinosaurs and there will be a range of dinosaur related activities, and songs. Others have shown interest in learning more about other professions, especially hair dressers, so we will help the children to set up a role play hair salon in one of the classrooms. Across the unit there will be opportunites to develop imaginative play skills through role play and small world play.

PERSONAL, SOCIAL and EMOTIONAL LEARNING

We are so excited to be welcoming new starters to the Bobcats class after the holiday.  We will spend time talking to the children how they might be able to support and look after the new children. We will reinforce the important skills of sharing and waiting for our turn, as well as reminding children of strategies they might want to use to invite others to play with them.
