MESSAGES

  • Welcome back from the Chinese New Year holiday!  We hope everyone had a lovely vacation spending time with family and friends.  We can’t wait to hear about the children’s experiences!

OUR LEARNING THEME

There will be many activities and learning opportunities on offer in the different classrooms this week, based on ideas taken from the children’s interests.  This week this will include working with the animals, dinosaurs, fire engines and sleepy time routines.  The activities on offer will facilitate development in the areas of creativity, imaginative play, emotional and social development, for example.  While each classroom will have a different overarching focus, the children will have ample opportunity to explore the different learning experiences on offer around them and find their own areas of interest.

KEY VOCABULARY

Fire engines, night, day, farms, emergency, transport

LITERACY AND MARK MAKING

Mark making and literacy form a core part of the early years curriculum, while this is always available as an activity in our pre-nursery classrooms, this week will be more focused on providing different opportunities for children to make their mark on paper.  This will link in to the learning themes above.  Mark making is an important and exciting step towards literacy in the early years.

KEY VOCABULARY

Mark, drawing, pencil

DUTCH

Na al dat stoere riddergeweld nemen deze week de prinsessen het kasteel over.  We maken kennis met het sprookje `De prinses op de erwt` en praten over wat het inhoudt om een echte prinses te zijn.
