  • Healthy Snacks - Please ensure that your child’s daily snack is a healthy one
  • Warm Weather - Now the weather is getting warmer, please could you encourage your child to bring in a hat and also a water bottle so that they remain well hydrated during the day.
  • Wanted - Jumble items for Tanzania Table at the Garden Party

We are a group of Y.8 & 9 students who are busy fundraising for the projects we will support in November when we travel to Tanzania on our amazing service project. We are looking for your help for contributions of second-hand toys, books and any other small unwanted household items for our Jumble Table at the Summer Garden Party. If you are leaving China or just having a Spring clean, please consider donating your unwanted items to our Tanzania Jumble Table. Please send them in to either the Primary or Secondary reception desks.

Literacy

In Literacy this week we will begin a new topic on poetry. The children will be writing and performing rainforest poems. They will focus on using adventurous adjectives to add detail and intrigue to their writing. The grammar focus for the week will be adverbs.

Mathematics

In Maths the children will continue to revise the previous weeks work and then begin to apply this knowledge to word based problems. The focus of the lessons will be very much dependent on the children’s individual strengths and weaknesses. Some of the areas the children might cover are; handling data, time, measures, shape and positional language.

Themed Learning

The children will be continue to learn about tribes that live in the Amazon rainforest. They will leant about the different customs and dress in some of the different types and then begin to write a simple diary of a tribe’s person’s daily life.

PSHCE

The teachers will teach the children playground games and discuss what it means to be a good friend.

DUTCH

De kinderen van KS1 starten deze week met een nieuw thema `In het wild`.  We gaan op zoek naar  de kampioenen onder de zee- en landdieren. Wat is het snelste landdier?  Wat is het grootste zeedier?   Onder de deskundige begeleiding van Freek Vonk komen we het allemaal te weten! 

In de spellingslessen oefenen we korten en lange klanken.
