    Charlotte Rakowski

    From a young age Charlotte has always loved working with children and started teaching the Piano and the ‘Cello when she was only 14. Throughout her Music degree at The University of Manchester, Charlotte worked in local schools and during the summer organised the activities programme of an international summer school. During her gap year, Charlotte gained her TEFL qualification and taught in Thailand, as well as volunteering in a Cambodian orphanage.

    Chris Samsom

    When Chris volunteered as an English teacher at a school in Cusco, Peru, she discovered her interest in education and decided to make teaching her profession. After finishing her Bachelor of Education she worked as a supply teacher at different primary schools in the city of Rotterdam, in The Netherlands, before working as a class teacher at a school for children with special educational needs (SEN).

    Cindy De Borger

    Cindy graduated from the University of Ghent in Belgium.  She has a Master’s in Political and Social Sciences and specialised in Communication Sciences.  She chased her childhood dream and afterwards gained a Post Graduate Certificate of Education.  After several teaching assignments in Key Stage 1 and 2, she started teaching Dutch to non-native adult speakers.

    Physical Education Teacher / Head of School Community Activit....

    Thomas Hitchings

    Thomas is the Head of the British International School Community Activities Programme (BISCAP), a PE Teacher and Head Swimming Coach of the BISS Lions Swimming Team.  He has been at BISS Puxi since 2010.  Thomas has had many roles in his eleven year teaching career which started in Manchester as a School Sports Coordinator.  It was for his excellent results in this role that he won the prestigious ‘Innovations in Sport’ award for raising extra-curricular activities attendance in deprived parts of the city.

    Jonathan Fudge

    Jonathan graduated from Durham University with a BA Honours degree in Sport, Health and Exercise Science.  Upon graduation Jonathan began his PGCE at the University of East Anglia.  Jonathan began his teaching career at Wymondham High School as a Physical Education teacher.  He left Wymondham High School to take up a role as School Sports Co-ordinator at Wayland Academy.  Jonathan was then promoted to the role of Head of House, combining this with teaching Physical Education.

    Jonathan takes real pride in the achievements of his pupils, most notably he enjoyed success with School rugby teams in various county and national competitions. He looks forward to continuing the success that BISS Puxi rugby teams have enjoyed and developing this as a real strength of the school.

    Doireann Bregazzi-Nevin

    Doireann gained a first class Honors, Bachelor of Science Degree from Dublin City University in Physical Education and Biology. She combined her love for travelling with her love for teaching and left Ireland to teach in the UK, Qatar and Australia. She has just joined us from her latest position as Head of Primary PE in Istanbul, Turkey.

    Doireann has additional qualifications in Lifeguarding, Athletics Coaching, Swimming Coaching and Kayaking Coaching. Doireann is passionate about teaching quality PE lessons, which allow all students in the class to progress. Through these exciting experiences in PE and extra-curricular sport, Doireann aims to instil a life-long love for physical activity in all students.

    Michael Dunphy

    Michael graduated from Dublin City University with an honours degree in Physical Education with Biology. He has since emigrated to teach at a number of international schools in countries like the UK, Qatar, Australia and Turkey. Michael was PE Coordinator at Al Maha Boys academy in Doha, Qatar, where he was also in charge of the football and basketball teams, who competed at the Qatar School Olympic Programme. He strives to deliver student centred lessons that focus on establishing a passion in his students for life-long physical activity.

    Sarah took her Degree at Hull University and qualified to teach with a PGCE from Bristol in 1991. Since then, she has worked in a wide variety of roles in primary schools including being a classroom teacher for every year group from Reception right through to Year 6, Special Needs and EAL.
