Jess graduated from University West of England in 2005 with a First Class honours degree in Psychology. She has always been passionate about working with and supporting young people, and has dedicated her career to doing so in a variety of different contexts including colleges and schools, the NHS as an Assistant Psychologist, and within a London based charity.
During a year backpacking around the world, Jess participated in some voluntary work at a school in Cambodia. This is one of the experiences that motivated her to combine her love of travelling and working with young people. Jess worked for 1 year managing the SEN department at an International School in the nearby city of Nanjing. During this year Jess visited Shanghai many times and fell in love with the city, which is what inspired her to relocate for a new adventure in Shanghai. Jess is therefore delighted to have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a fantastic staff team to best support the needs of the children at BISS Puxi.
Jess’ favourite pastime is travelling, and she is greatly enjoying the adventure of exploring China and Southeast Asia, particularly when there are opportunities for scuba diving. Jess is also passionate about theatre and film, which provided her with the chance in her previous International School to direct the senior school production. Jess loves live music and singing, and was a singer in a folk band in London. Other hobbies include arts and craft, photography and swimming.
