Staff Profile: Michael Dunphy

Michael Dunphy

Head of BISCAP

Michael graduated from Dublin City University with an honours degree in Physical Education with Biology. He has since emigrated to teach at a number of international schools in countries like the UK, Qatar, Australia and Turkey. Michael was PE Coordinator at Al Maha Boys academy in Doha, Qatar, where he was also in charge of the football and basketball teams, who competed at the Qatar School Olympic Programme. He strives to deliver student centred lessons that focus on establishing a passion in his students for life-long physical activity.

Michael has a wide range of interests and as a PE teacher a lot of these are focused on team sports and physical activity. In particular he enjoys football, basketball, Gaelic Football, hurling (an Irish team sport similar to Lacrosse), surfing and skiing. In his spare time, Michael enjoys cooking, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
