Stephen’s first work was, surprisingly in a research laboratory working for CSIRO. He has been at the British International School Shanghai, Puxi for the past seven years and during that time has composed and published two volumes of children’s music using the material he has composed for his students. Stephen is an active performer and brings a love for music and music performance to the classroom.
Stephen has a passion for small group jazz and tries to find time in his busy schedule to maintain and develop his performance skills on the double bass. His two other interests are technology, particularly as it is applied to music composition, and reading. His favourite activity is spending time with his family, Yanna, Neo and Lennie. His two young boys love all kinds of transport so he spends a lot of time on trains and buses travelling around China.
