    Shaheen Khan

    Shaheen graduated from Bradford College, UK with a B.Ed (Hons) in 2010. She worked for five years in a Primary school in Bradford, UK, as a class teacher and then Phase Leader. During this time Shaheen had responsibility for assessment and mentoring. Following this she worked at an international school in Abu Dhabi as a Grade Leader and Grade 1 teacher.

    Philippa Bourne

    Pippa hails from Chelmsford in the South-East of England and resides in nearby Colchester – the oldest town in Great Britain. Pippa attained a Bachelor of Science, undertaking one year of her linguistics and psychology studies at the University of Alberta in Canada. She also achieved a Master’s degree in International Business at the University of Birmingham, UK, which included an internship through a private university in Brazil. There, Pippa visited a school for disadvantaged children and her eyes were opened to the pleasures and power of education. She graduated from Durham University in 2011 with a PGCE in Primary Education and immediately travelled to Lesotho, where she volunteered at a teaching college to share the benefits of her UK training with local trainees.

    Michael Jolly

    Michael Jolly

    Michael graduated with a BSc in Sociology and Social Policy from the University of Southampton in 1989 before completing his PGCE at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. He began his professional career in Blackpool before venturing overseas in 1994, working first in Kuwait and then Colombia, where he met his wife Margarita, before moving to Ethiopia.

    Lucy Bacchus

    Lucy graduated from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University, UK with a BA (Hons) Degree in Textiles & Surface design.  After travelling to Africa to volunteer in a school, she realised that she wanted to work with children and become a teacher. After gaining Qualified Teacher Status, Lucy taught in KS1 in an outstanding school in the UK, before moving to an international school in Qatar. She has worked for four years there in KS1 and KS2.

    Joseph Bailie

    Joe completed a BSc (Hons) Degree at Durham University, UK in 2014 in Applied Psychology, and his PGCE at Durham University, UK. Joe has worked in both Key Stages. In his second year of teaching Joe was appointed as Head of Literacy and Assessment, and implemented many positive changes to both areas of the School.

    Anne Sweeney

    Year 2 Class Teacher

    Anne Sweeney

    Anne completed a B.Ed. in Primary Education in Dublin, Ireland. Her specialist subject was English and she was privileged to have as one of her lecturers the poet Seamus Heaney, who subsequently won the Nobel Prize for Literature. She went on to complete her Diploma in Education while teaching at a primary school in Dublin. In addition to working in a multicultural environment, she was the PE co-ordinator and was responsible for directing athletics as well as promoting positive attitudes towards health and fitness.
