    Year 3 Leader

    Petrina Booth

    Petrina trained at Roehampton University, UK, for a Bachelor of Education degree with a music specialism. Petrina has lived in China since August 2014, with her first three years at The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun; another Nord Anglia Education school. Since joining Nord Anglia, she has completed the Middle Leadership Programme including a research project for integrating iPad technology which supported her role as the Computing subject leader. Petrina has also been part of the partnership for developing the STEAM subjects with MIT in Boston. Petrina is excited to join BISS Puxi, as the school has an excellent reputation and outstanding facilities which will allow her to continue this work.

    Richard Thompson

    Richard graduated from the University of Leeds, York St. John, UK in 2003 with a BA (Hons) in Theology and followed this with a Master’s Degree in 2005. He gained his PGCE from Newman University, UK in 2013. Richard has taught for four years from Year 3 to Year 6 in the UK and has had responsibility as a Phase Leader, English lead and Teach First mentor. Prior to training as a teacher, Richard worked in the Royal Household, Windsor Castle and at The College of St George, Windsor Castle.

    Emma Wakelin

    Emma attended the University of Aberdeen, gaining a Masters degree in Management Studies before going on to work as an inward investment and marketing officer in Kent. Having been involved in Teaching English to Foreign students, both at home and abroad throughout University, Emma decided on a change of career and sought employment at a small village school in South East England.

  • Andrew Foster

    Year 3 Class Teacher / Mathematics Curriculum Leader

    Andrew Foster

    Andrew qualified from Cardiff University in 2003 with a Degree in Computer Science. He relocated to China and taught English as a foreign language for two and a half years at a prestigious Chinese boarding school. Andrew returned to the UK in 2007 to study for his PGCE at UWIC University. He then worked as a class teacher in primary schools in London and the South East of England. Prior to joining BISS Puxi as a Year 4 teacher Andrew has been a class teacher, ICT Coordinator and Key Stage 2 Leader

    Amy Leese

    Amy joins us in August 2016 as a Teacher in Year 3. Amy graduated from De Montfort University with a BSc HONS in Textile Design, whereupon she worked independently for 2 years as a knitwear designer in the UK. Returning to De Montfort University Amy gained a distinction in her PGCE Art and Design and continued a long running family tradition as a Secondary School Art teacher. She joins us from St Christopher’s International Primary School, Penang where she teaches Year 5 and has taught for the last 3 years.

    Matthew Watson

    Year 3 Class Teacher

    Matthew Watson

    Matt worked for a number of years in finance before taking the decision to enter the world of education. After gaining his qualifications to teach English as a second language, Matt taught teenagers and young adults in Dublin, Dubai, Oxfordshire and Penang (Malaysia) before opting to work with younger children.

    Martyn Chadderton

    Year 3 Class Teacher

    Martyn Chadderton

    Martyn practised as solicitor specialising in commercial and property law for a number of years before following his long held ambition to teach. He successfully retrained and completed his Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Southampton. Since entering the profession, Martyn has been fortunate enough to teach in a selection of good and outstanding schools on the South Coast of the UK.

    As a strong believer in inclusion, Martyn takes a caring and nurturing approach to the classroom. He believes that strong professional relationships with the children, built on trust and respect, enables them to enjoy school life and to make rapid progress in their learning.
