    Joynal Miah

    Joynal graduated from the University of Bedfordshire, UK with a degree in Business & Marketing with the intention of entering corporate life. However, before this Joynal grasped a fantastic opportunity to uptake one of his many heartfelt hobbies, travelling.  He decided to embark upon a year out, to teach English Language in South Korea. It was there that Joynal rapidly developed a thirst for teaching. Torn between his new found love for teaching and his desire to enter into the world of Business and Enterprise, he decided to combine both. It was not long before Joynal returned to England to complete his Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and therefore qualify as a Business Studies teacher.

    Katherine received a BSc in Business Management and worked for Nestle after graduating throughout the North of England. In 1999 Katherine decided it was time to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher and attained her PGCE in Secondary Business Studies and Economics from Manchester University, UK in June 2000. She took her first post at Sale Grammar School, Manchester followed by Teesside High School in 2005 which delivers an exceptional education for 3-18 year olds. Katherine was the Head of Business Studies and Economics for 12 happy years. Katherine’s teaching philosophy is student focused. She believes that with the right attitude and support, there is no limit to what can be achieved. Katherine believes that education is a team event with the teacher working in harmony with the student and the family.

    Khadak Kumar Gurung

    KK Gurung has taught Business Studies and Economics at secondary schools in London and Kingston in the UK, and in Hangzhou, Chengdu and Shanghai in China.  In one school, his students achieved outstanding results for three consecutive years and many gained places at Oxbridge, the Russell Group and Ivy League universities.

    Matthew Worley

    Matthew has had an affinity for business studies since undergrad studies and continued the pursuit through a MBA and Masters of Accountancy Science. He also enjoys the practical side of business, by acting as an entrepreneur for several years. He has previously taught A-level for four years. Matthew also holds a Cambridge CELTA and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from Sunderland University, UK.

  • Lois Johnston-Walker

    Business Studies Teacher

    Lois Johnston-Walker

    After studying for an MA in International Management, Lois went on to complete a PGCE in Business Studies at the University of Huddersfield. Her most recent role was at Ruislip High School in North West London, where she was Head of Business Studies.

    One of Lois’ strengths in this role, was her passion to bring business to life for students. For four years, she ran Company Programme through Young Enterprise, whereby students had a chance to establish and run their own business. In 2013 she supported a group of Year 10 to 13 students who were runners up in the West London finals. Lois also supported students to arrange other enterprise projects, such as Ruislip High School’s first music festival, which was opened by the Mayor of Hillingdon and featured in the Uxbridge Gazette.
