Khadak Kumar Gurung

Head of Business Studies & Economics

KK Gurung has taught Business Studies and Economics at secondary schools in London and Kingston in the UK, and in Hangzhou, Chengdu and Shanghai in China.  In one school, his students achieved outstanding results for three consecutive years and many gained places at Oxbridge, the Russell Group and Ivy League universities.

After graduating with a first, KK joined an international company as management trainee and quickly rose through the ranks to become director.  He has since held senior management positions in private and multinational corporations in Asia and the West, including Fortune 500 companies.  Having held directorships in operations, sales and marketing, finance, and business strategy, he uses his extensive industry knowledge to apply economic and business theory to real life examples.

KK received his MSc from Imperial College London and his MBA from Henley Business School, UK.  His professional qualifications include a BM from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a CIM from the Chartered Institute of Management.  He trained at the prestigious UCL Institute of Education for his PGCE and gained a CELTA from Cambridge University.  He has also attended courses in Economics from leading universities including MIT, Melbourne and Pennsylvania.

KK believes that as teachers, we are seeking to find what is best and finest in our students and helping them to achieve to their highest potential.  He is delighted to be part of the initiative at the school to incorporate collaborative learning into the curriculum.  Collaboration is the key to success in the classroom, in sports, at work, and in life.  It is one of the most desirable skills students can acquire to succeed in their careers and to become responsible members and leaders of society.
