Lewis’ first degree was a B.A. in Philosophy from King’s College London, which led him to a career in EAL teaching. After several years working in Japan and China, he decided to return to university to study computer science at the University Of York and then Mathematics with the Open University.
He then worked in computer programming and web development roles for several years before returning to university again, this time obtaining a PGCE in mathematics education from the University Of Bristol. After two years teaching in England at Chatham Grammar School for Boys, he returned to China to join BISS Puxi to teach Computing in addition to Maths.
In his spare time, Lewis likes to play board games including Chess, Go and Backgammon. He also runs the school's chess club.
