Allan Olsen is a native of Denmark where he obtained an MA in History and English at Aarhus University. He completed his studies and Master’s thesis in the UK. During this time he also worked as an interpreter at various museums across the UK, where he has been both a benign Victorian Print Shop worker as well as a malign 18th Century Gaoler. Both experiences added to Allan’s idea that History should be both fun and academically enriching.
Allan completed a PGCE at UWE Bristol, UK in 2002 and has since worked as a History teacher in the UK. Since 2004 he has been teaching History at the Mark Rutherford School in Bedford, UK. After 13 years as a successful classroom practitioner in the UK he has decided to seek a new challenge at BISS Puxi. During his career Allan has mainly worked as a Head of Department and OCR Examiner. He is eager to adapt and develop his existing skills in the exciting new setting of the British International School in Shanghai.
