    Tobias Bate

    Head of Science

    Tobias Bate

    Toby studied Marine Biology at The University of Wales Bangor and completed his PGCE at the University of Leeds. He has taught at a number of different schools within the UK, holding a variety of leadership positions both in and out of Science and was most recently the Head of Biology at The Alice Smith School in Malaysia. 

    He has also worked for AQA as an examiner for Biology A levels for the past five years and is currently studying for his Masters degree in Blended and Online Education at the University of Edinburgh, Napier. Due to his work with a number of international schools over the last few years he has also been awarded full membership of the Royal Society of Biology and is working on achieving his CSciTeach accreditation through this internationally recognised institute.

    Corinna Graham

    Corinna graduated from the University of Toronto with High Distinction achieving an Honour Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, German and Mathematics. She has worked in the International School circuit since 2005 teaching IB Physics, IB Mathematics, Chemistry and Science with appointments in Hong Kong, Singapore and Phuket. She is also an IB Examiner and IB Moderator for Physics.

    Pedro Joseph

    Pedro graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK with a 1st Class Masters in Chemistry (MChem with study in industry) before working in the Paper Recycling Industry throughout Europe. Moving to a career in teaching involved a Post Graduate Certificate of Education, PGCE, at Leeds University, UK before working in the UK and a large International school in Bangkok, Thailand.

  • Francis Gale

    Physics Teacher

    Francis Gale

    Francis graduated from the University of Sheffield and returned to his college to assist in the teaching of physics as a learning mentor. This positive experience of working with young people led to him enrolling into Kings College London to gain a PGCE in secondary education. Once qualified, Frank was given a position in the North London school in which he had trained, teaching physics at GCSE and A level. His genuine passion for his subject and his enthusiasm for the development of the young people he works with are the foundations of his success as a classroom practitioner. With an honest investment in all of his students, he is excited by the potential of anyone with an interest to become a success in the field. As well as teaching science, Frank is a keen walker and climber and has assisted students in the Duke of Edinburgh award and other outdoor pursuits.

    Amy studied Biology at the University of Portsmouth and upon graduation she immediately relocated to work in a busy research lab in Manchester. It was whilst supporting undergraduate students that she decided to train as a teacher and she successfully completed a PGCE in Science Education at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2008.

    Eimear graduated from University College Cork in Ireland in 2013 after studying science education with a major in Chemistry. Eimear has been working in an academy in North London teaching GSCE science and A level Chemistry for the last two years. Her enthusiasm for enabling young people to think and work both independently and collaboratively means that her students are always engaged with their learning.
