    Thomas Hitchings

    Thomas Hitchings is the Director of Sport and Physical Education Teacher.  He has been at BISS Puxi since 2010 and is the founding manager of the BISCAP programme.  Thomas has had many roles in his 12 year teaching career which started in Manchester as a School Sports Coordinator.  It was for his excellent results in  this role that he won the prestigious ‘Innovations in Sport’ award for raising extra-curricular activities attendance in deprived parts of the city.

    Doireann Bregazzi-Nevin

    Doireann gained a first class honours, Bachelor of Science Degree from Dublin City University in Physical Education and Biology. She combined her love for travelling with her love for teaching and left Ireland to teach in the UK, Qatar and Australia. She joined us a year ago from her latest position as Head of Primary PE in Istanbul, Turkey. She is currently studying for a Master’s of Education in Inclusion and SEN through the University of Birmingham, UK.

    Michael Dunphy

    Head of BISCAP

    Michael Dunphy

    Michael graduated from Dublin City University with an honours degree in Physical Education with Biology. He has since emigrated to teach at a number of international schools in countries like the UK, Qatar, Australia and Turkey. Michael was PE Coordinator at Al Maha Boys academy in Doha, Qatar, where he was also in charge of the football and basketball teams, who competed at the Qatar School Olympic Programme. He strives to deliver student centred lessons that focus on establishing a passion in his students for life-long physical activity.

    Jonathan Fudge

    Head of PE

    Jonathan Fudge

    Jonathan graduated from Durham University with a BA Honours degree in Sport, Health and Exercise Science.  Upon graduation Jonathan began his PGCE at the University of East Anglia.  Jonathan began his teaching career at Wymondham High School as a Physical Education teacher.  He left Wymondham High School to take up a role as School Sports Co-ordinator at Wayland Academy.  Jonathan was then promoted to the role of Head of House, combining this with teaching Physical Education.

    Jonathan takes real pride in the achievements of his pupils, most notably he enjoyed success with School rugby teams in various county and national competitions. He looks forward to continuing the success that BISS Puxi rugby teams have enjoyed and developing this as a real strength of the school.

    Nicholas Lewis

    Nick is from Merseyside, England and qualified from Liverpool John Moores University in 2007 with a BA (Hons) with QTS in Primary and Secondary Education specialising in Physical Education. He then worked in several roles within the North-West of England in both the primary and secondary setting, with a focus on all curriculum areas in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 specifically.

    Jenna Whitmore

    Jenna began her professional career working in fitness centres concentrating on increasing children’s participation in physical activity. She graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a First Class Honours Degree and then pursued her passion for teaching by gaining QTS in Physical Education from the University of Bedfordshire. After working in both state and private schools around London, Jenna embarked on her international teaching career, spending 3 years in Bangkok, Thailand.

    Joanna Yardy

    Joanna graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a BA (Hons) degree in Physical Education Secondary QTS. Joanna began her teaching career at Neale Wade Academy in March, Cambridgeshire. She left after two years to teach at Newmarket Academy in Newmarket, Suffolk where she was responsible for leading dance and promoted swimming within the school. Joanna was promoted to an Achievement Leader working as part of a house team to drive progress. She believes in creating an environment which is student centred where students are leading their own learning and enjoys sharing her passion for Physical Activity, in particular swimming.
