Job started teaching Dutch in 2007 at a school on the outskirts of Rotterdam, when his former Dutch teacher, offered him a job. He knew teaching was the right profession for him right away, especially after he met the person who would become his wife, at the same school. He studied Dutch Language at Rotterdam University and graduated in 2011 after a four year course. Keen to find out what life would be like in other parts of the world, he and his wife started looking for jobs abroad. When his wife was appointed a job in Shanghai, he didn't hesitate to come along. After a short period of working as a substitute teacher, he managed to get a full time job teaching Dutch as well. He has been teaching at BISS Puxi since 2012 and very happy here.

Job’s number one sport has always been field hockey, which he has played since he was 10 years old. He also enjoys coaching other sports, like floor hockey. Most of his free time is spent with his wife, 3 year old son and 18 month daughter. They particularly like to go out for walks, either around town or in the country side. Besides all this he loves to read Dutch literature, watch English football or support the BISS Puxi rugby teams. He spends his holidays exploring Asia, one of the goals he set himself when he came to China.
