Maria gained a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature and then went on to obtain a Masters degree in Education with a distinction from the University of Nottingham, where she also completed her PGCE. She has over ten years of working experience teaching English both as a foreign and additional language. She joined our school after teaching in international schools in Korea and elsewhere in China.
In her school in Korea she was responsible for the EAL handbooks and the creation and implementation of a 4-level EAL programme along with all necessary assessments, reporting documentation and procedures within the EAL Department. Maria has followed her husband to Shanghai and is delighted to have the opportunity to work in larger international school.
Maria enjoys swimming, reading and shopping. She also spends a lot of time in the kitchen cooking up Greek delights with her younger daughter who has very early on shown an interest too. She hopes to pass on two generations’ recipes to her. Above all, she enjoys her time with her husband and two young daughters currently in primary at the British International School.
