Our offer for assisted learning is designed to benefit every child at our school regardless of whether they require assisted learning or not. Here students who require special needs learning are integrated as much as possible into the mainstream school, and students following our mainstream school programme benefit from understanding the needs of others and working with them.
Why Dover Court for my child?
Our Department of Supportive Education offers a comprehensive programme for children with special needs. It provides an environment in which pupils of all abilities are able to flourish to a degree that might not be possible elsewhere.
Benefit to all
Each class from the Department of Supportive Education is twinned with a mainstream class for events such as assemblies, field trips, sports days, concerts, and various social activities.
The children are also integrated for academic subjects where appropriate. This inclusive approach lets all children benefit from the strengths of a team of highly professional mainstream, English as a Second Language (ESL) and education support teachers.
Ages taught in our supportive education program
The supportive education program provides teaching for children from the ages of 6 to 18.
An integrated approach
A great benefit of this facility is the integration of children into main-school activities. This can be incredibly valuable to both mainstream and supportive education children by bringing them together as equal learners.
The integrated approach to teaching in the supportive education program provides opportunities for each child to interact with peers and adults of varying personalities, backgrounds, abilities, interests and ages. This social education goes hand in hand with the life skills classes that every child participates in, which cover topics such as healthy eating, conflict resolution, road behaviour, and first aid.
