Year 5 to Secondary Trip Information Meetings

An exciting array of trips have been organised for students in Years 5 to Year 11. To give parents in these year groups the opportunity to learn more about the dates, itinerary and activities, we have arranged a series of information evenings with DCIS staff and a representative from Rustic Pathways. These meeting will occur as follows (all located in the Cooper Hall):

YEAR 5: Thursday 22nd September, 6.00pm – 7.00 pm

YEAR 6: Monday 19th September, 5.30pm – 6.30pm

YEAR 7: Monday 19th September, 6.30pm – 7.30pm

YEAR 8/9: Tuesday 20th September, 5.30pm – 6.30pm

YEAR 10/11: Tuesday 20th September, 6.30pm – 7.30pm

Library News

Today the world celebrates the 100th birthday of Roald Dahl. In the last week, the DCIS Library has been screening 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' every school day during break and lunchtime  as a prelude to the Roald Dahl celebration. Also there are going to be fun filled quizzes and much more in the Main Library in conjunction with Roald Dahl's 100th!

DCA Transitions Workshop

Our Educational Psychologist, Vivienne Scott, hosted a Transitions Workshop last Wednesday. Her power point presentation is attached below for anyone who missed this event. You can also read about the workshop on the DCIS Transitions Workshop school blog. If you are new to Singapore, do try to come to the DCA Welcome to the Red Dot workshop tomorrow morning.

Shakespeare Flash Mob

In the next two weeks, there will be Year 7 & 8 Drama Students completing their Drama challenge in the form of a flash mob. They will take place around break times and lunchtimes on campus. In small class groups, students will break out in certain areas around the school and perform parts of their Shakespeare monologues. So if Juliet calls for her Romeo on the climbing frame, or if Lysander is searching for his love Hermia in the secret garden or if Puck starts to chatter away to you in the cafeteria - please stop, stare and give a big smile!

Skoolbo News

Well done, DCIS! Last week over 56,000 questions were answered on Skoolbo by DCIS students putting DCIS at the top of the Skoolbo leaderboard. Keep up the good work!
