DCIS Library News

Last week, Library time began and it was business as usual with the students excited to check out all the new books. We have a separate NAE Global Library reading section in both the libraries and some of the students have started borrowing the titles already. There is also a separate Star Wars section in both the libraries which is already proving to be very popular.

To mark 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl, the World's No.1 storyteller, many students have started borrowing their favourite Roald Dahl stories. It is a fun time for the whole family to rediscover and discuss their best-loved stories from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG to The Twits! For more information and a countdown to the big day on September 13th go to https://www.roalddahl.com

Finally, the ECA Book Club will start as scheduled on September 21st, for Years 3 to Year 5 where the Book Club students will have the privilege of checking out an extra book!

DCA Parent Association

Our DCA will host their first 2016-2017 meeting Tuesday evening after the Parent Curriculum Evening. With the DCA Family Picnic on Saturday, we are hoping to confirm DCA Class Representatives by Wednesday when all class reps are asked to attend a meeting in Cooper Hall at 8.30am. The DCA can be contacted on dca@dovercourt.edu.sg but also like our DCA Parent Association Facebook page at DCA Dover Court Association - PTA where parents can connect and share information.

Red Dot Radio and DCIS TV Studio News

Red Dot Radio and DCIS TV Studio are back and this week our new student leaders are being elected to help run the many exciting radio and TV projects this year. To start with they have already recorded a radio interview with our new principal, Mr. Short, and students have also interviewed some of the new Secondary teachers. The link to these interviews will be available later this week.

2015-2016 The Doverian Yearbook

We do have copies of the 2015-2016 yearbook still available from School Reception. If you have not yet purchased a copy and would like to have an extra copy for posterity, please do ask for a copy from School Reception. They cost $10 and are a lovely momento from the last academic year.
