Reading Volunteer Programme
‘Reading Volunteers' will be a regular commitment of approximately 1 hour per week and will be scheduled at the same time each week for those who would like to take part. Year 7 - Year 9 Tic Tac Toe Homework
Tic Tac Toe Homework packs for Term 1 for Secondary School students in Year 7 to Year 9 are attached below and will be shared with students and parents this week. The Tic Tac Toe packs are also available from our Secondary School (Ages 11-16) webpage.
Lunch Service: Sodexo
As previously communicated the main cafeteria is not accepting cash payments, but the DCIS Café will continue to accept cash. Although, the cash facility in the DCIS Café is really designed to accommodate parents for occasional use, we recommend that all students are signed up for a Campus Online account. This limits cash on site and allows parents to track purchases that students make during the day through their Campus Online accounts. You can access the Campus Online page at this link.

DCIS Saturday Sports Hub - Free family event
On Saturday 28th October, from 9.00am to 12.30pm, Sport4kids will be running a free family event to launch the DCIS Saturday Sports Hub Programme at Dover Court International School. Come on down and try out as many sports as you can.
This new Sports Hub programme will include the swimming and the Tennis programmes which have been successfully running on Saturdays at DCIS for some time. We will be introducing a Multi-sport and Soccer programme for children as well as an adult boot camp class for the parents.

Cubs and Beavers

This year’s themes were chosen to get students thinking about what kind of world they want to inherit in the future. We hope that with this focus, we will encourage thought-provoking work that helps shape our response to the United Nation’s Global Goals

UNICEF CLIMATE COMIC CONTEST (OPTIONAL FOR STUDENTS)

UNICEF is seeking to teach and engage children and youth on climate action as well as showcase to decision-makers at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP23) the importance of creatively including young people on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement

The UNICEF Climate Comic Contest invites students to create and submit a climate-saving superhero for the chance to produce their very own comic! The workshop toolkit walks the class through a climate change lesson plan and a creative superhero-building activity. The top submissions will be voted on worldwide during the UN Climate Conference in November. The winner will work with a professional team to bring their superhero to comic-book life!

After a discussion with several schools regarding the Photographers of the Year 2017/18 competition, we have decided to extend the deadline from Monday, 2nd October to Monday, 30th October 2017
