Staff Profile: Lee Cairns

Lee Cairns

Year 1 Class Teacher (1LC)

Lee obtained a BEd (Hons) with Qualified Teacher Status from Liverpool Hope University College (University of Liverpool).

From Liverpool, Lee moved to Southampton where he taught in a large Junior School for three years as a member of an excellent Year 6 team.  He enjoyed a number of roles at the school.  He coordinated RE and ran the School Council. From Southampton, he moved to Manchester. Again, he taught Year 6, a role he thoroughly enjoyed. He coordinated Numeracy and Science and got heavily involved in the Eco-Schools initiative. Lee went on to coordinate Modern Foreign Languages and was lucky enough to be selected to travel to the south of France on a teacher exchange programme in 2006.

Lee moved to Singapore in 2008. Since joining Dover Court, he has coordinated PSHE and, because of the importance he places on student voice, has continued to be involved in School Council.  He is currently teaching in Year 3 and is looking forward to his move to Year 1 in August.

Lee got married in 2014 and his young family keep him pretty busy out of school.  He enjoys playing golf when he can, likes to read and loves to travel. He enjoys football and still keeps an eye on the Gaelic Games back home.  However, much of his time these days is devoted to diaper duty.
