Staff Profile: Anna Vessey

Anna Vessey

Year 2 Class Teacher (2AV)

Anna graduated of the University of Surrey, Roehampton.

Anna has held a number of leadership roles including Head of Art for Early Years, Key Stage 1 Literacy Co-ordinator, Director of Cultural Arts and Languages and School Mentor for Graduate Trainees and NQTs.

Anna's passion for teaching started when she was only 16; gaining experience working in schools both in Australia and Malaysia where her parents lived. She is motivated by the progress the children make and cites this as her reason for being a teacher. She believes that children should always understand the reason they are learning and how it will help them outside of school. Her philosophy is that learning should be easily transferable between the classroom and home life. She enjoys developing her knowledge on how children learn and how best to engage them.

Anna has enjoyed her first year at Dover Court and in Singapore. She is glad she made the move and is looking forward to the next year. She has been able to travel to many places in the last year and has made great friends. She has shared her passion for rugby in the school and is hoping to get together the first girl’s touch rugby team this year who will compete in matches against other schools.
