Staff Profile: Tom Handley

Tom Handley

Year 2 Class Teacher (2TH)

Tom gained his teaching qualifications at Liverpool Hope University, England, studying Primary Education for four years, where he specialised in Physical Education.

Tom has been teaching internationally for several years now, having previously worked in Hong Kong as a primary teacher and Head of House and following this experience he transferred to Budapest. Prior to his time teaching internationally, Tom taught at a school in Wakefield, Yorkshire, where he took on a variety of different roles and projects such as School Council co-ordinator and ICT co-ordinator. During his time teaching in Wakefield, Tom also hosted community events, created student radio stations and formed international partnerships with students in Japan.

In addition to his specialism in PE, Tom enjoys using technology and ICT to enhancing the learning experiences that take place in his classroom. To this end, he is always looking for new, innovative ways to engage and inspire his students.

Outside of school, Tom’s hobbies include football (supporting his beloved Arsenal F.C. in particular), playing guitar and exploring new places.
