Previously, Sally taught in London schools for over six years. Her father was in the British Military which enabled her to enjoy her childhood in Germany, Cyprus and England. This helped develop a love of travel and appreciation of different countries and cultures. Combined with teaching in schools in London, this has led to a strong emphasis on tolerance and respect for different views and opinions. The ability to consider both sides of the argument not only essential to a historian or a geographer, but helpful in an international learning environment. The aim of teaching being not just to help students achieve academically but to develop their own views and build confidence in themselves as individuals and world citizens.
Sally's interests are quite diverse as she likes to keep busy. Having travelled around so much as a child, travelling features quite strongly in her life. When not teaching Sally can be found exploring South East Asia; whether this means sailing in Singapore, rock climbing in Bali, trekking up a volcano in Sumatra, visiting museums in Vietnam or sampling street food in Thailand. She hopes to foster the same love for the world to her students.
