Staff Profile: Bethany De-Bear

Bethany De-Bear

Year 3 Class Teacher (3BD)

Bethany gained her teaching qualifications at the University of Plymouth, England, studying Primary Education for 4 years, where she specialised in Art and Design.

Bethany is joining Dover Court from the British school of Beijing where she has taught at since August 2014. She has always been keen to travel and see more of the world, so is very excited for her new adventure in Singapore. Prior to Beijing, Bethany taught in a school near Salisbury in England for two years where she took on many different roles; these included running the school council, coordinating History and also coordinating Design Technology and Art and Design across the school. Her role as Art coordinator was particularly enjoyable for her as she loves anything messy, creative and fun!

Her studies in Art and Design were perfect for her as it combined her two main passions: working with children and art. Bethany ensures that creativity is at the heart of her teaching, she is always looking for new and exciting ways to deliver her teaching and to engage the children in her class.

Outside school, Bethany enjoys travelling and visiting new places with her husband Michael. Apart from art, her hobbies also include netball, swimming and cycling. She is also enjoying trying to learn Mandarin, however, this is a very slow work in progress!
