Staff Profile: Lynn Jones

Lynn Jones

EAL Class Teacher (5/6LJ)

Lynn has joined Dover Court to teach Year 1. She has a B.Ed in EFL and a MA in Communication for Development.

Lynn received her B.Ed and ESL qualifications whilst teaching in East Asia. Over the past 10 years, she has taught in South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, China, and briefly in the UK before settling with her family in Sweden. Lynn taught Year 6 at a bilingual school in Stockholm and went on to complete a Master of Arts degree in Communication for Development. Lynn’s prior experience in Asia and Europe has made her considerate of cultural differences and have a broader understanding of global teaching practices.

Lynn’s interests in photography, hiking and different countries’ food and culture has made the move to Singapore and the multicultural teaching environment of DCIS an easy transition. Lynn is most passionate about human rights, with a focus on the rights of the child and recently completed courses in International Health and Women’s Rights (Stanford University) and Education for Development (Stockholm University). These foundations, coupled with Lynn’s love of teaching, can been seen in the care she takes in the academic and social development of her students.
