Message from Year 7 Trip Leader
Message from Year 7 Trip Leader This was before BIS arrived, armed with 50 VERY excitable Year 7’s embarking on their very first secondary school journey. And what an experience it was!

Picture the scene - a quaint Eco -Lodge, set up on a mound surrounded by a vast picturesque lake, nestled away in the depths of Yen Bai……..

This was before BIS arrived, armed with 50 VERY excitable Year 7’s embarking on their very first secondary school journey. And what an experience it was!

A 3 hour coach journey, followed by a short boat ride saw our arrival at the beautiful La Vie Vu Linh. The students were gobsmacked by the beauty of our ‘home’ for the week and were so excited to have look around, to see their rooms and get started on the activities the staff had planned for them.

Following a delicious lunch, a trend which continued on throughout the week, the students were given a tour of the location and then got to work on their Raft Building - an activity that would prove to be very competitive as the week went on.

As the week progressed, friendships developed, raft rivalries were created and memories were made. The students were an absolute asset to the school and put their full effort into every task they were given, and did so with the biggest smiles on their faces.

Even the hardest tasks were met with perseverance - the chants of ‘7 up we don’t give up ‘ rang from the rafters as the teams pushed themselves to their limits in the final Raft Race, and the faces of delight from the students as we climbed to the top of the beautiful waterfall was one I will look back at happily in years to come.

A very exhausted group of students (and staff!) returned to BIS at the end of the week - the bus a whole lot more peaceful than the outbound journey!
