BIS Hanoi Principal Weekly Update 02.12

What a spectacular Winter Festival we experienced last night at the British International School  Hanoi. There were some outstanding performances by our very talented students who were so well prepared by our wonderful staff. Thank you to all the parents and friends that came to support us and for being such an appreciative  audience.

Our Year 13 students are currently applying for various universities around the world and some of them have submitted early entry applications to some of the top universities in the US such as Stanford, Columbia, NYU, Northeastern and UMASS and will know the outcome sometime this month. In fact one student has already been offered a place at the University of Colorado (Boulder) our first successful applicant from this year’s graduating class. Other students are busy finalising their applications to Universities worldwide including  UK, Europe, Singapore and Australia. We wish them all the best of luck with their applications and their final A2 examinations in a few months time.

We are extremely pleased to be hosting the Nord Anglia Education South East Asia Leadership Conference at BIS Hanoi next week. Over 70 leadership delegates from NAE and its eight schools in SE Asia will be here on the 5th, 6th and 7th December. The purpose of the conference is for us, as a region, to work together on various professional development and policy initiatives. We look forward to welcoming our NAE colleagues to BIS Hanoi.

I am now looking forward to going to this evening’s BBGV Christmas Community Event where a number of our wonderful  students are performing.

I do hope that you all have a relaxing weekend

Anthony Rowlands, Principal
