  • British International School Hanoi summer concert

I attended two excellent BIS Hanoi events this week. The first was an annual school event which was held on Wednesday evening - the whole school summer concert. The second was the Year 7 work sharing evening held on Tuesday evening which was a new inclusion in the school calendar. Both events were outstanding examples of the exceptional students and staff that we have at BIS Hanoi. The summer concert showcased a variety of dazzling performances; we saw individual and group pieces on the violin, flute, clarinet, oboe, guitar, percussion and piano, all of which were absolutely stunning. Equally, we enjoyed the contemporary aspect of Stomp as well as soul and rock music performances. The ninety students who entertained us presented something very special on Wednesday. What was also so encouraging was the appreciative audience of over 250 people who enhanced the atmosphere and mood of the evening.

The Year 7 work sharing evening on Tuesday was also special. The students put on a lovely demonstration of their work to their parents firstly in the Theatre and then in the auditorium. In the Theatre, performances were given by groups of students highlighting work in different subjects. The parents then moved into the auditorium where each student had set up an individual display of their school work to show and discuss with them. It was such an inspiring evening!

Congratulations to our students and staff for two exceptional evenings. I do hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.

Mr Anthony Rowlands, Principal
