Dear Parents

It has been an extraordinary Friday. If you were lucky enough to be there for the Moon Festival Assembly, I am certain that you have felt happy all day. To see our community so joyful in a collage of colour was uplifting for us all.

The children ( and perhaps the dragons) were the stars of the show and this has been the case all week.  On Thursday the co-chairs of our newly elected school council- Tran Lan Ngan and Yeong Jun Yang - led a secondary assembly and introduced their fellow representatives to the secondary school .  Beyond the classroom, our girls tasted victory on the basketball court in the Middle School Girls’ basketball match against our friends and rivals BVIS in just one of several school sports fixtures. You can read more about our talented athletes in the news section of our BIS Hanoi app. There you will also find the impressive scholarship story of Le Tran Thu Thao and an outstanding piece of artwork by Quang Minh.

I am so proud of our students and next week offers further opportunities for them to excel, when we begin our Extra Curricular Activity programme. Days like today are why teachers love their jobs. To be part of a school like ours is such a special feeling and we invite all parents to share it with us. Why not come along with a friend to our open morning and tour of the school next week? We are holding it on Thursday 22 September at 10:30 am and we’d love to see you there.

Tim Webb, Head of Secondary
