At BIS, we aspire to be a community of global citizens who are enthralled by learning, and learning from like-minded professionals was certainly a focus of the conference for Principals of Nord Anglia Education Schools which I attended at the beginning of the week. It is clear that our ambitious group of schools is always striving to offer more opportunities for our students, collaborating with some of the most well-renowned educational establishments and professionals. Our links with The Juilliard School is being further developed as the strands for Dance and Drama will be introduced into NAE schools over the next 2 years. In addition to performing arts the link with MIT, recognised as one of the top universities in the world, will prove invaluable as BIS look to further develop STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) initiatives. Visits to MIT for members of our staff followed by opportunities for student visits will be embedded as part of our strategic way forward.
I hope you enjoyed the Moon Festival celebrations in your own homes and have seen the photos and video of our BIS event which have been posted on the BIS website. The assembly on Wednesday was an amazing success and demonstrated the talent of our BIS students, Vietnamese teachers and teaching assistants. Congratulations to all those who performed - through song and dance, you certainly demonstrated your talents!
Communication at BIS
The BIS Hanoi mobile app is a communication tool that we launched just over a year ago. In addition to being able to rapidly access key sections of our school website, parents are also able to send absence notes to the Primary or Secondary office, give medication instructions to our school nurses directly, order uniforms, access the class blogs and much more. You can also receive reminders about upcoming school events or urgent notices in case of unforeseen circumstances. The BIS Hanoi app is free to install and is available on both the Apple Store or Google Play - download yours today. For more information, please see this quick instructional video.
Parents and Staff still have a week to enter, we have another display board ready for your entries so don’t forget to send them to firstname.lastname@example.org before the deadline. The theme of the competition is “Global Goals” however you can also submit entries on “Where I live” or “Where I lived”. Please see the poster below for further details.
