U15 Team Compete in FOBISIA Games 2017

(2/11/2017):
7:00: The U 15 FOBISIA team departed this morning to Phuket, Thailand to compete in the annual games. Students are excited and are looking forward to the event.
22.00: The under 15 Fobisia team departed early this morning to Phuket Thailand to compete in the annual U 15 Fobisia Games. This year the students will represent BIS in the Purple group. After 2 delayed flights the students and staff were very happy to be welcomed to Phuket by friendly staff from Thanyapura sport hotel. After the induction and a brief tour of the surroundings, students had dinner and a quiet evening, preparing themselves for the start of the tournament tomorrow. Students will participate in Swimming and Athletics on Friday.

Day 1 (3/11/2017)
 BIS Hanoi showcased great sportsmanship and enthusiasm today. The team went from strength to strength in the swimming pool. All the swimmers had to work really hard to earn their spot on the podium. Everyone set new personal best times in all of their events. Students who excelled today in the pool was Yu Yang Lua, Kenta Yonemori, Ha Minh Nguyen and Minh An Nguyen. During the athletics event students were tested to perform at a very high level and proofed that all the time training paid off. The teams’ confidence was high after the swimming and students had the chance to showcase their athletic ability. The competition was fierce but BIS Hanoi performed well under the pressure. All the students had a very exhausting day and head off to bed early tonight. Day 2 will see the girls play Football and the boys Basketball. It was a great start for the team on day 1.

Day 2: (3/11/2017)
Girls Football and Boys Basketball.

 The girls football competition showcased great football skill and the girls improved throughout the tournament. The girls showed great resilience throughout the day. Their grit and enthusiasm earned them overall the 3rd position. Their determination on the field was great and we hope to keep the momentum going for tomorrow in the basketball tournament. In the boys basketball tournament the boys showcased great resilience after they were defeated in their first match. The team improved and played their best match in the last round. The match had everyone on the edge of their seats, BIS beat SIS 27-26 in the last 10 seconds of the match to secure the overall 3rd place for the tournament.
 
It was a very successful day for both the boys and the girls teams today. The team endeavours to continue the brilliant play for their games tomorrow.

Day 3: (4/11/2017)

Today the girls played basketball and the boys played football. Being the last day students were tired and they had to focus to channel all their energy to be able to play to their best ability. The boys football matches was in the morning and the girls supported their peers. The boys matches where all evenly matched and the boys had mixed results. The final standing for the boys in football was fourth. In the Girls basketball the girls had a very difficult day and the ball just did not want to drop through the basket. The team gave it their all and finished 5th overall.

At the gala dinner the athletics and swimming results were announced. We were 4th for athletics and 2nd for swimming.

Students enjoyed the evening with new friends from the various schools. The team will be travelling back tomorrow.
