    Simon Hoare

    Simon is from Salisbury in the South of England. He attended Oxford Brookes University before moving to Vietnam in 2012 to pursue a career in teaching English.

    Simon worked at Language Link in Hanoi for the last 2 years and during that time he has taught in a number of Primary and Secondary schools in Hanoi. He has really enjoyed helping Vietnamese students to improve their English.

    Outside of work he has travelled extensively throughout South-East Asia since moving to Hanoi. In his free-time he enjoys reading, playing a variety of sports and is passionate about food and likes cooking along with dining out.

In addition to literature, Marie is interested in sociology, global politics and debating.

    Kate has worked a variety of jobs in education since graduating in 2009 and is now a passionate English Language and English Literature teacher.  Due to her Psychology background, she also has a keen interest in student emotional wellbeing and child development, and was a Head of Year at her school in Birmingham for two years.

    After being at her last school for seven years, Kate felt that it was time to broaden her horizons and experience teaching English as a foreign language in a new and exciting environment.  Kate enjoys reading, running and learning about new cultures and countries.

    Ms Un Ju is an experienced teacher as she has taught Korean language, literature and culture for many years at several universities in South Korea. She has also taught high school students preparing for university entrance. For the last for 4 years Un Ju has been teaching Korean mother tongue language to elementary students at UNIS  Hanoi. Un Ju feels it is very important to develop good and respectful relationships with students in order for them to reach their potential.

    Bradley Minchin

    Bradley trained as a teacher in the UK in 2004 and spent five years working in Birmingham. During this time he completed the FastTrack course with the National College of School Leadership and was a Head of Year in a large inner-city school. He took his first international post in 2009 in Dubai, where he was a Head of Year and latterly, Head of History and Politics at a leading British curriculum school. He is currently studying for his Masters in Politics at the London School of Economics, and is an A Level examiner for Edexcel.

    Tom Agass

    Tom volunteered and taught English in a number of South American countries after graduating from the University of Leicester before returning to Newcastle and completing a PGCE in History in 2011.  After teaching for a year at an outstanding school in County Durham he moved to Mexico with his fiancée, Hannah, where he taught IGCSE & IBDP History at The Edron Academy in Mexico City.  He was also the Subject Leader for Global Perspectives during this time. Having completed their contracts they set off on a once in a lifetime adventure around the world for a year where Tom got to fulfil his lifelong dream and travel through Eastern Europe, culminating in taking the Trans-Siberian Railway through Russia.  He is a passionate historian and enjoys traveling to new countries to learn first-hand about their past.  He is also a keen (but often limited!) sportsman with a particular affection for football and snowboarding.

    Jim Schofield

    Jim has worked in the UK education system for 6 years at schools across North London, specialising in teaching Geography, and has  been employed at BIS Hanoi since 2013. Since joining, he has lead his department to accreditation by the Geographical Association of the UK and is always looking for ways to improve the provision of Geography for all students at BIS. Aside from teaching, Jim enjoys travelling, watching sports such as Rugby and Formula 1 motor racing, learning Vietnamese and finding interesting places to sample new cuisines.
