    James Callan

    Year 6 Teacher

    James Callan

    James Callan  was born and grew up in Kent. Recently, he worked in St Albans as a Year 5 teacher, year group leader and Mathematics leader having previously worked in London and Leeds. He also taught for a short time in France. 

    James is passionate about languages, having learnt French from a very young age, and speaks French whenever possible. He is a keen footballer, cyclist and runner and  enjoys skiing. James has a  love  for music and is a keen reader (in both English and French) and enjoys socialising with friends.

    Harriet Crombie

    Harriet is originally from the United Kingdom and graduated from Oxford Brookes University. Before moving to Hanoi, Harriet taught for three years across Key Stage Two in a primary school in London, where she was History and Geography coordinator. In her spare time, Harriet enjoys trekking, exploring new places and experiencing new cultures.

    Stephen Labelle

    After teaching in Canada for a year Stephen moved to the UK in 1999. He taught KS2 in a London primary school for three years, then moved to teach KS1 in Kyiv, Ukraine. He then moved to Jordan, where he enjoyed teaching both KS1 and KS2 for five years. In his last school, the British School, Jakarta, he lead both Year 6 and 3, and also coordinated History and Geography for the International Primary Curriculum. Stephen enjoys cooking for his family, and sharing their experiences when travelling.

    Thomas Holmes

    Before coming to BIS, Thomas was teaching at Belleville School in the UK. For the last two years, Thomas has been teaching  in Year 3 at BIS Hanoi and has now moved year groups to Year 6 and lead Phase 3. In his spare time Thomas enjoys playing the banjo and guitar as well as playing football for a team based in Hanoi. He is also part of a local band that plays music around the city and loves meeting fellow musicians. He is a keen cook and enjoys trying new food and experimenting with local ingredients.
