Basketball Report

Renaissance International School came to TX this week to take on our teams. After a great day of international celebration our players were in an energetic mood, some even played with face paint on.

As usual the girls played first and played excellently and must be in with a chance of going far at next week's city tournament.

Again Kelly Tran was star of the show scoring 16 of TX's 24 points on the way up to a 24-7 victory. Special mention to Soo A Kim who made a lot of baskets by showing excellent anticipation and winning a lot of rebounds for the team.

The boys were up next and came up against a very strong and well drilled RISS team. RISS built up a big lead in the first half meaning TX trailed by 14 points at half time. The boys however showed great character in the second half to battle back. Led by Khoa Tran who rebounded excellently and fought very well as the only TX player who could match the height on the RISS team.

Khoa and Andrew Vu score 14 points between them to reduce the deficit to just 4 points, with Bonny Nguyen and Duy Anh Mai also pitching in with baskets. Unfortunately it was too little too late from TX as the game finished 30-22 to RISS. The boys showed excellent character to battle back in the second half and should be congratulated.

There is no match after school next week, and no boys game at all. The girls team will travel to South Saigon International School to take part in the SISAC City Championship Tournament on Wednesday 25th November. Feel free to come along and show your support.
