Year 8 Community Project – Overcoming Disabilities

On Wednesday 19th November Form 8S organised an event for the children at the Thao Dien Disabled School.

The theme for our activities was “The 5 Senses”.  We split into groups to make games for the children and these were:

Blindfold goals – the children had to close their eyes and try to score a goal

Musical Chairs – listening to music and trying to sit on chairs when the music stopped

Blindfold taste testing – the children were blindfolded and had to guess what food they were eating

Guess what’s in the box – different objects were put in a box and the children had to guess what they were just by touch

Where’s Waldo – looking to find Waldo in a crowded scene

The children really enjoyed all the activities but the musical chairs was their favourite so at the end we had one big game of musical chairs all together while Jack and Lucas 8S played the piano.  The children were really friendly and some of them wanted to cuddle us a lot.  It was a bit intimidating at first but by the end we were sad to see them go.
