On the Tu Xuong BIS Hub this week:

 -  Breakfast at Tu Xuong

 Dear Parents,

 'Welcome and Welcome Back!'

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces in the playground on Wednesday, and to catch up with many parents at the 'Welcome and Welcome Back Breakfast.'  Thank you to the parents' group for organising this event.  When people ask me about what makes the Tu Xuong Campus special, I have no hesitation in telling them that it is being part of a wonderful community.  We have amazing children, dedicated and hard working teachers and teaching assistants, a great team in the office, faithful and reliable guards, cleaners IT and maintenance staff, and a supportive group of parents.  Working together as a learning community, it is no surprise that our children not only achieve well, but also are caring, respectful, global citizens.

Tu Xuong Welcome Breakfast

As it does each year, our community sees new members joining in August, and I would like to extend an especially warm welcome to all the families who have joined TX this year.  I would also like to welcome several new members of staff who are joining our team this year.  I am sure you join me in wishing them a successful and enjoyable time at our school.

To strengthen our community further, I wish to draw your attention to a number of upcoming events:

Parents' Information Evening - Thursday 3rd September at 6.30pm in the Sports Hall

This is an opportunity for me to welcome you once again, and to pass on essential information about the year ahead.  We will begin in the sports hall before splitting into year groups where teachers will pass on expectations and information about the year ahead.

High Tea at Villa Royale - Monday 7th September3.30pm - 5.30pm at Villa Royale, D2

Our parent group has organised this event for teachers and parents to get to know one another and enjoy a very British tradition of taking 'high tea'.  We need to confirm places with the staff at Villa Royale, so make your payment of 220,000VND to Ms Duong in the office by Thursday 3rd September.

EYFS Parents' Evening - Week commencing 14th September

This is an opportunity to discuss with the teachers how the children have settled into their new classes. EYFS staff will contact you soon regarding specific appointments.

Y1- Y6 Parents' Evening - Tuesday 22nd September

We have brought parents' evening earlier this year.  A number of parents commented that they would like an earlier opportunity to discuss any issues and specific targets for the year ahead.  Each year, our teachers look at previous assessments and carry out further 'baseline' assessments to ensure they are setting relevant targets for all the children.  At these parents' meetings we will be sharing those targets to enable school and home to work together for the benefit of the children.

On Tuesday, we had our orientation day for new pupils.  Please follow the link to see the presentation that I shared with our new families:

 Welcome to Tu Xuong!

 Have a super weekend,

Ian Battersby, Head of Tu Xuong Campus
