Meet some more new teachers from AP1!

Last week we met Chris and Naomi from AP1. This week I have the pleasure of introducing Chloe Martin, one of our new Year 4 teachers and Lindsey Shuttleworth who is part of our PE department.

We asked the same questions, finding out about their first reactions to life in Vietnam and their new roles here at AP1. It is great to see that both are so positive about BIS and life in Ho Chi Minh City.

Pick the first 3 words you think of when I say Vietnam

Busy, vibrant and friendly

What are your first impressions of BIS?

BIS is an exciting environment for children to develop their understanding  of themselves and other people. It encourages children to find things that interest them and to be open to lots of new things!

What new experience have you had since you arrived in Vietnam?

I had a massage for the first time!

If you were writing a postcard to friends back home, what would it say?

Hello,

I am writing this from the safety of a café sipping a sweet, creamy coffee. The heavens have opened and the ground smells hot and steamy. People are rushing by on motorbikes and foot hiding from the incessant downpour. On one side is a shop selling clothes (the latest fashion from the cat walks) and the other side is preparing a full dinner on the back of a bike. Anything and everything is possible on the back of a bike here. Please come and visit soon. I want to see your face when you taste the most delicious bowl of noodles I have ever had.

Take care, Chloe

Beeping horns, humid, interesting

What are your first impressions of BIS?

Welcoming, supportive, organised

What new experience have you had since you arrived in Vietnam?

Meeting people from all corners of the world at work and outside of work, tasting unfamiliar food, motorbike rides, beach weekends away, brunch (awesome experience), learning some BASIC Vietnamese language enabling us to get from A-B.

If you were writing a postcard to friends back home, what would it say?

I am settling well and living my dream.
