Thursday 6th October saw BIS HCMC host it’s Battle of the Bands Competition and a new band be crowned BOTB16 Champions!

The event was a fabulous evening of entertainment with 6 bands competing for the 3 prizes and to be crowned overall champions.

We were also treated to performances by Junior and Senior School of Rock. The decision was a tough one for the panel of judges, which included Eilidh Kelso from the local band Zunkbomb. Eventually, after much deliberation, they decided to award the KS3 prize to the year 8 band 13th Floor, the KS4/5 prize to Blackbirds and the overall  winners were named as the band  ‘Tone Deaf’.

This is an amazing feat for ‘Tone Deaf’ who were performing in the event for the first time. All in year 11, Jonah on guitar and vocals, Elliott on Bass and Jamie on drums impressed the judges with their tight ensemble skills, stage presence and the overall excitement generated by the performance. They played ‘In the Summertime’ and ‘Heathens’ in their set.

Later in the week, the band also went over to An Phu Primary to perform infront of a gym full of primary students and our Juilliard curriculum specialist who all enjoyed the show!

Well done to all competitors, comperes and stage crew for helping to create such a memorable and entertaining night.
