In ‘Community Sports & Activities Club’ the children, along with Mr Steve and Mr Andy, have been enjoying a variety of challenging games! There have been activities ranging from Lego building and paper plane making competitions, to bowling and musical statues. They even had a session in the music room learning how to keep a beat and follow a rhythm with the help of Mr David, a music teacher from CNCF.
The club will finish next week with a party to allow the children to celebrate with the new friends they have made. It has been a pleasure to see TX children work closely with other children from our wider community and gain new experiences. Mr Andy and Mr Steve say it has also been a privilege to share a club with such enthusiastic and friendly learners.
In addition to the success of the community club, there have been a number of recent charity fundraising events to be proud of. Today, the PTG across the whole of BIS HCMC organised a coffee and cake morning in order to raise money for the charity Thuy’s Dreams. Parents baked a variety of sweet treats and managed to get donations from restaurants, cafes and bakeries. All of the proceeds will go to Thuy’s Dreams which provides spiritual and financial support for Vietnamese paediatric cancer patients. Thank you to the PTG for organising such a fantastic event.
We are also delighted to announce that here at the Tu Xuong campus we managed to collect over 12,000,000 vnd for the Royal British Legion during sales of poppies and other items around Remembrance Day. The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for members of the armed forces and their families.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved in raising money for Thuy’s Dreams and the Royal British Legion. Fundraising is an important part of our community work and it has been incredible to see so much support for charity fundraising at Tu Xuong.
Ms Alicia, Community Service Campus Leader
