All EYFS staff and children returned to find the F1 learning space transformed into a new and wonderful space with hidden places, climbing spaces and restful quiet areas. Some of our little friends in F1 and F2 have never experienced school before and have been exploring a variety of play spaces in the EYFS areas. The F1 children from last academic year have returned, very grown up after the long holidays, to join F2 classes; starting to form new relationships with classmates, teachers and TAs alike.
Our young children have come to the end of their ‘staggered entry’, easing them gently into school. It is full days from next week with F2 children going to the canteen for their lunch for the very 1st time. This last week and a half has been full and busy with big smiles already and lots of children easily and happily leaving parents, glad to be back to school. Classroom activities include making playdough, threading beads to make bracelets, playing games, constructing, playing in a variety of role play settings, exploring splash pool, meeting Ms Beth for music and Mr Richard for PE, painting and sensory play with fragrant tea leaves or shaving foam. We’ve also had some lovely snack time with children using super English and fantastic manners.
A picture tells a thousand words so here’s a selection of pictures from our settling in days.
