Brilliant Books 2016

It was one of my favourite events last year and this year it was even bigger and better! This week, TX hosted our very own ‘BRILLIANT BOOKS’ event.

  • TX Book Week 19

During this time, we celebrated our love of books and reading. We were extremely fortunate to have the fantastic author and actor Ciaran Murtagh visiting us from London. The entire school enjoyed taking part in workshops with Mr. Ciaran and listening to stories he told.

On Monday 26th September, all the staff and children dressed up as book characters and the colourful character parade was held for children and staff in the morning. Each Milepost adopted a theme and the staff dazzled as characters from ‘Room on the Broom’, ‘Mixed-up Fairy Tales’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘Swiss Family Robinson.’ The office even got in on the act and recreated the entire cast of Harry Potter, including the sorting hat!

During the summer, there was an extreme reading competition launched by the TX teachers. Mr. Ciaran judged the competition and the winners each received a voucher, generously donated to us by Fahasa.

Similarly to last year, BIS also proudly presented the 2016 Book Fair at TX in partnership with Fahasa, held in the TX library. This year the event ran for 3 days and it was very successful.

I would personally like to thank everyone involved in making ‘Brilliant Books’ such a brilliant event!
